E Ignashev is a Vienna-based composer and sound artist. His work, aiming to create tangible sonic experiences and fusing musicality with pure acoustic sensations, includes acousmatic and live-electronic pieces, installations, AV and theatre/film projects. It often refers to surreal, oneiric and scientific narratives.
Psychosonography, sonic adventures and exporation on a mission to create immersive sonic worlds of resonating entities and gestures interwoven with machinery composure. Sounds from custom-built instruments, extended instrumental/vocal techniques, synths, field recordings, vintage lab equipment, audio-programming environments with psycho-/otoacoustic elements, microtunings, AI, spectral transformations and site-specific spatial sound projections.
He is a co-founder of ‘moquette’ and ‘Blinds’ concert series with the p u n c t u m collective ensemble; a member of A Certain Trio (ACT) explorative sound art union, Wiener ARP Ensemble (W~ARP), Marie Byrd Land, The Kickers and other project-specific collaborations. He contributed music to several films and the Loóna app (winner: Apple Design Awards 2021).
His work has been supported by the Ministry for Arts & Culture (BMKÖS, AT), City of Vienna MA7, SKE, and others. He studied electroacoustic music, sound art and electronic media at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (mdw/ELAK), Darmstädter Ferienkurse, cello & music tech since an early age + psychology with a focus on cognition in music as a diploma/PhD.

The piece is for live organ and 6-channel electronics, this is a stereo mixdown version.
Ionosphere focuses on the organ's sounds usually almost unhearable and unnoticed due to being quite, far from the listener, blurred by the acoustics of the space or considered artefacts accommodating the “proper” sound.
The wind from the blower, the tiny nuances and changes on the border between wind and tones, frequency beatings from the half-opened stops' combinations. Electromagnetic fields recorded with special microphones create an electronic layer of the piece.
